That’s right, on November 16th NewLeaf Financial Guidance turned two years old. The last two years in business as a fee-only financial planning firm has been an amazing experience.
Every time a big milestone like this rolls around, there’s a temptation to tell everyone what I’ve learned or what I’ve done during my time in business. I want to share my ups and downs so that everyone knows the incredible journey I’ve been on.
But I couldn’t have done ANY of it without my wonderful clients! So, instead, I want to focus on the NewLeaf family – because they’ve had some big things happen in the last two years. And without them, NewLeaf Financial Guidance wouldn’t have all that much to celebrate.
BIG CHANGES
Over the last two years, NewLeaf Financial Guidance financial planning clients have had some BIG life changes going on.
- 7 have new gigs.
- 8 new homes were purchased (and of those 7 – 4 of them were purchased by first-time homeowners – and there will be one more by year end)!
- 3 families moved. Of those three, two of them moved to another state entirely!
WE’RE GROWING
No, I don’t mean we’re hiring on any smiling new faces just yet. I mean we’ve had 6 families welcome newborn babies in the last two years! And want to know something else cool? 4 more babies are on the way in 2018.
Speaking of growing, 2 clients have gotten married, and 1 happy couple just got engaged.
WE’RE LEARNING
I could tell you about all the amazing things I’ve learned in the last 24 months of being in business. But instead I’d rather brag on my clients who found the financial freedom to go back to school and continue their education. I’ve had 2 clients go back to school to get graduate degrees, and 2 more completed their doctoral/graduate studies. Way to go, everyone!
WHY AM I TELLING YOU THIS?
You might be wondering why I’m sharing all of this with you. The long and short of it is at NewLeaf Financial Guidance, the successes of my clients feel like my successes. We really are a family. Every time I see someone kick some student loan tail, take control of their finances with a new family cash flow strategy, or celebrate a BIG personal achievement – I celebrate right alongside them.
Yes, in the last two years I’ve learned a lot. I’ve experienced the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. I’ve worked hard, and I’ve had a lot of fun. But the thing I’m most grateful for is these wonderful people and families who allow me to be a part of their journey, to help them grow in their finances, and achieve big things!
As the holiday season kicks into high gear, take a moment to reflect on the great things that have happened to you over the past two years, give thanks to the people around you who help you along your journey, and celebrate!
Thank you all for allowing NewLeaf to be part of your family!
